For those not familiar with the area, the historic town of Tunbridge Wells in Kent is a popular and bustling haven for all ages. This stunning and vibrant town hosts a large mix of residential property types from studio flats to large period properties attracting families, commuters and retirees alike to the aptly named, Royal Tunbridge Wells. With the property market under additional scrutiny in 2020, the average property price reported by Zoopla in August 2020 was £495,889 for properties in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.  

Zoopla further reported Tunbridge Wells flats reaching an average of £289,295 and Tunbridge Wells terraced houses selling for an average of £387,500; this average property price is an increase of 4.46% in the last 3 months from May 2020 (source Zoopla, August 2020).

Royal Tunbridge Wells remains extremely popular to buyers with the historic heart of Tunbridge Wells providing a collection of independent boutiques, jewellers, art galleries, cafes, bars and restaurants. Vintage fairs, live music and food festivals all make an appearance throughout the year and the summertime café culture helped it achieve top three in the Great British High Street Awards.

As reported by nethouseprices.com in June 2020, the central Tunbridge Wells area property prices are more expensive than their counterparts in the surrounding areas of High Brooms (average property price reported as £291,480), Rusthall (average property price reported as £306,771) and Southborough (average property price reported as £447,987).

Whilst year on year there is a variance in reporting, with RightMove reporting a 5% increase since 2019 (August 2020), nethouseprices.com reporting a 3% increase for property prices in Tunbridge Wells (June 2020) and Zoopla reporting a fall of 2.49% compared to the 12 months previous (August 2020), hunni homes estate agents in Tunbridge Wells, have seen an invigorated market continuing in the summer of 2020, with the Government stamp duty holiday adding momentum to a market of buyers who have been keen to get their property journey moving after the enforced pause of spring 2020.
